You see, your gift to Family & Children’s Services (F&CS) makes an impact that extends beyond the clients we serve each and every day. It reaches their families, their friends, their neighbors and more. Your generosity keeps families intact. It prevents cycles of abuse. It reduces recidivism. It provides hope.

Josie’s mother was facing a 30-year prison sentence for drug manufacturing when a judge referred her to our Women in Recovery program. The program is long and intensive—participants spend an average of 18 months recovering from drug abuse while also addressing the trauma and sexual abuse that often led to their addiction. We help them obtain education goals, hone job skills and find long-term employment. Most importantly, family reunification therapy helps them to repair relationships with their children and families and, in turn, stops the cycle of trauma and abuse.

Thanks to donors, Josie’s life will be forever altered. She’ll have a mother who is present and stable instead of in prison. A mother with coping skills, parenting skills and job skills. A mother who is clean and has lifelong access to a continuing care program that will help her stay that way.
