Women's Justice Team
We are a team of educators, advocates, and mental health providers dedicated to walking alongside women* as they seek to disentangle themselves from the criminal legal system. We take a multi-generational approach to client care because we know trauma, unmanaged mental illness and disordered substance use effects individuals and their families. We specialize in providing gender-responsive care to parents that both restores parent capacity and strengthens family bonds. Women’s Justice Team (WJT) promotes reconnection to oneself, to family and to community.
*”Women” encompasses all femme-identified and gender-diverse folx.
Women’s Justice Team (WJT)
Outpatient Clinic offers on-site and remote mental health and substance use treatment services in an outpatient setting. We promote hope and healing through culturally-affirming, comprehensive wellness services tailored to each client’s unique goals and preferences. History of legal involvement is not required to access services.
Re-Entry
Our goal is to connect with every woman in the Tulsa County Jail to help them access resources and plan for services after they are released. In doing so, we facilitate a stronger start on their path towards success and reduce the risk of returning to jail in the future.
Parenting in Jail (PIJ)
This program provides evidence-based parenting classes to individuals involved in the criminal legal system, in both jail and community-based settings. The program also facilitates weekly contact visits in several jails for participants and their children and provides support and resources to caregivers. While the focus of the curriculum is on skill building for parents, the topics are relevant for any individual impacted by the criminal legal system who has a close relationship with children.
