We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Toneille Bent as the new Executive Vice President of Culture and Engagement at Family and Children’s Services (FCS). Toneille brings an impressive background and a passion for building positive, impactful relationships. She is a deeply people-focused leader who draws inspiration from fostering meaningful connections. Toneille joins FCS following a remarkable 9-year tenure with the national education non-profit, City Year, where she most recently served as Vice President of New Site Development with the Headquarters-based External Engagement Policy and International Relations (EPIC) Team.
Toneille’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for FCS. In her role, she will integrate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles throughout our organization. As a public leader, educator, and advocate, Toneille will ensure that FCS remains a strong community collaborator. Her efforts will focus on fostering a culture of inclusivity and engagement, enhancing our ability to serve and support our community effectively. Her leadership, experience, and passion will undoubtedly drive our organization forward.
Toneille began her career at Hilti, an international fastener company, where she managed distributorships in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her diverse career path has seen her transition across various sectors. She moved into education, initially working as a Spanish teacher and later in administrative roles. In 2015, Toneille joined City Year Tulsa, where she led program and service delivery. Her roles at City Year also included HR positions, and she is a certified life coach and consultant.
Among Toneille’s proudest accomplishments are building a diverse team of Impact leaders, supporting City Year Tulsa’s expansion into 10 school partnerships, and mentoring and coaching leaders across the organization. Her leadership has left an indelible mark on City Year and the communities it serves.
In her “spare time,” Toneille is pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education at Oklahoma State University. She also serves on several boards, including the Tulsa YWCA and the Be Well Community Development Corporation at the Tulsa Health Department’s north center. Her commitment to education and community service underscores her dedication to fostering positive change.
Originally from Jamaica, Toneille moved to America as a young girl. Her unique journey and immigrant experience provide her with a special worldview and an exceptional ability to engage and connect across lines of difference. Her background enriches her approach to leadership and community engagement.
Toneille’s greatest joys are her family and loved ones. She cherishes her roles as an auntie and godmother. In her free time, she indulges in her “guiltless” pleasures, which include travel, music, and good food.
Please join us in welcoming Toneille Bent to the FCS team. We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in her new role.
