Meet Shelise Scott-Combs, a dedicated professional serving as the Director of Integrated Health and Nursing Services at FCS since January. With a nursing career spanning over two decades, Shelise’s journey is a testament to her commitment to healthcare and her passion for making a difference in people’s lives.
Shelise embarked on her nursing journey in 1997, starting as a Nurse Assistant. Her dedication and hard work led her to complete her Associate Degree in Nursing in December 2002. She then began her nursing career in earnest at a local hospital’s Level II Trauma Emergency Department.
In 2007, Shelise stepped into a leadership role as the RN Manager of the Nurse Float Pool. Her leadership skills and vision for healthcare saw her rise to the position of Nursing Director in 2015. She later served as a Senior Regional Director, overseeing various markets in Virtual Care Services.
Throughout her career, Shelise has been instrumental in leading, strategizing, and executing implementations of programs and software technology. These initiatives have significantly enhanced operational performance and nursing practices.
Shelise’s academic achievements include earning her BSN in 2010 from Oklahoma Wesleyan University and an MBA in 2019 from the same institution.
Shelise’s decision to join FCS was driven by her desire to align her career with an organization that shared her focus and values. She believes in providing hope and whole-person care, which is central to her philosophy as a nurse. For Shelise, making a difference in the lives of people – be it clients, staff, colleagues, team members, strangers, or family and friends – is the core reason she chose to become a nurse. This belief continues to guide her in her current role and shapes her vision for the future.
