Unlike some of my friends, Mom and I are close … but when I told her I didn’t want to go to school because I felt scared, she would get mad.
Looking back, I know that she just didn’t know what to do with me.
When I locked myself in my closet and screamed that I couldn’t handle the pain anymore she knew what to do. She called Family & Children’s Services COPES. They help kids like me who are in a really bad place. I talked to them and they connected me with a counselor who understands me.
