“Hope starts here!” These words were spoken by a Family & Children’s Services client we’ll call Bryan. And while “Bryan” is not the client’s real name, these words are real words, literally spoken by one client after receiving the mental and physical health care he needed from Family & Children’s Services (FCS). You see, Bryan came to a significant realization during his time working with FCS. Bryan learned that he could get better. That he really could get his life back. Hopelessness faded away, and Bryan’s life was now pegged to a new guidepost: that hope was possible, that it was attainable, that it was now a reality in his life. And it started right here at Family & Children’s Services.
Bryan’s story is just one of thousands.
FCS has always been at the forefront of innovation and evidence-based practices, delivering hope, healing and recovery for children and adults who are struggling with social and economic challenges as well as abuse, trauma, crisis and mental illness and addiction. You know FCS – we’ve been in Tulsa for more than a century. And since 1921, we have been delivering hope to the hopeless, right here in our local community.
Today, FCS provides hope for your mental health and more. We’ve expanded care beyond the traditional community mental health and substance use treatment services by offering comprehensive care for children and adults with serious mental health conditions, multiple chronic medical conditions and complex social support needs. Our new whole-person care approach extends services into physical health care coordination and addresses the social and economic well-being of individuals in need. We have expanded our workforce to significantly increase the number of clients we can serve, enhance access to care and provide more comprehensive and client-centered services to anyone in need of care.
This comprehensive approach to improving mental and physical well-being may include a combination of medication treatment, therapy, health care screenings, care coordination with medical providers, lifestyle changes, social support, housing assistance, employment services and access to crisis hotline and mobile support. In a nutshell, we are meeting the critical, immediate, felt needs of our community in a way that addresses the whole person. FCS is committed to fostering hope and empowering those receiving care from us to the very best outcomes.
By tailoring services to address the unique needs of each individual, whether child or adult, Family & Children’s Services aims to empower clients and support them on their journey to recovery, promoting not only mental health but also overall well-being.
