On Thursday, Sept. 19, Gov. Stitt and several members of his Cabinet visited Family & Children’s Services Women in Recovery to learn more about program initiatives. In his State of the State speech earlier this year, Gov. Stitt requested $1.5 million of his proposed budget toward the program. Read the full transcript of the speech here.
“The intentional work being done at the Tulsa Women in Recovery program is helping to instill a sense of hope for women struggling with addiction and provide them with the resources they need to turn their lives around. It is programs like these that will help us move the needle in order to make Oklahoma a #OkTopTenState,” Stitt said in a social media post.
WIR staff also hosted health and wellness writers recently as part of an event hosted by the George Kaiser Family Foundation and SGPR. The writers contribute to publications such as New York Magazine’s The Cut, The Washington Post, Health, SELF, etc.
