The National Conference of State Legislatures hosted a two-day event Thursday and Friday for a bipartisan group of state lawmakers from across the country. During this visit, lawmakers will have the opportunity to meet with community service providers, including Family & Children’s Services, and explore the myriad ways that system stakeholders have collaborated to engage individuals in services from court navigators to court- and community-based hubs designed to connect defendants with available resources.
Katherine Ronnow, Criminal Justice Diversion Project Manager at Family & Children’s Services, is speaking at the event and FCS Women’s Justice Programs are attending to spend time with attendees to share program success and glean valuable insights from those in attendance.
This event is made possible through an NCSL partnership with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Tulsa is one of four Just Home Project sites across the country, selected to advance community-based efforts to break the link between housing instability and incarceration in local jails.
