During the 2022 Tulsa Area United Way fundraising campaign, Family & Children’s Services (FCS) staff raised the bar, donating more to the campaign than any previous year. On March 7 during the Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW) Live United Award ceremony at the Cox Business Center, the agency honored FCS with the Illuminate Award.
The Illuminate Award is one of eight major awards. This award is given to an organization that exemplifies using model campaign techniques to achieve success with their campaign. FCS was recognized for its campaign kickoff event at a Tulsa Drillers’ game that included pledging, raffles and prizes for the entire staff.
The Live United Awards is an annual event. This year’s focus was “Celebrating 2022 Community Heroes.” The ceremony highlighted community impact through the contributions from companies, organizations and their employees and individuals who invest in TAUW’s 59 partner agencies and seven community collaboration initiatives, and five innovation projects that improve lives every day. Investments are highlighted in three building blocks: education, health and safety, and financial stability.
“Because Family & Children’s Services is one of Tulsa Area United Way’s 59 nonprofit partners, they see how funding impacts the community firsthand,” TAUW said in a statement. “They understand the importance of giving back, not only serving their own clients but supporting the clients of other nonprofit collaborative partners as well.”
About the Tulsa Area United Way
The Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW) is the only nonprofit organization in the six-county area funding 59 partner agencies whose critical services deliver the three building blocks to a better life: education, financial stability and health/safety. Since 1924, TAUW has raised and invested over $825 million to assist the lives of people in need in Creek, Okmulgee, Osage, Rogers, Wagoner and Tulsa counties. All contributions to the TAUW are invested locally, and governance is maintained by a highly dedicated Board of Directors. The 2020 Board Chair is Kirk Hays, President and CEO of Arvest Bank, Tulsa.
About Family & Children’s Services
For more than a century, Family & Children’s Services (FCS) has been the place to turn for help with problems that seem overwhelming and too difficult to handle alone. The agency restores children’s well-being, heals victims of abuse, strengthens individuals and families, and provides hope and recovery for adults suffering from mental illness and addictions. Today, its life-changing services help one in six Tulsans.
