On June 27, Family & Children’s Services participated in an outreach event to thank the Tulsa Police Department (TPD) and the dispatch team for all the work they do for the Crisis Care Center and the community.
“Crisis Care Center truly appreciates everything the Tulsa Police Department not only does for our agency but also our community,” said Katherine Ronnow of Family & Children’s Services. “From dispatch to the officers who workday in and day out to get the mental health population the help that they need is the reason we decided to put on this event. This event could not have taken place without our donors, and we thank them for all they do as well for our community.”
The event started at 5:30 a.m. and ended at 8:30 p.m. Food was delivered throughout the day to more than 600 police officers and dispatch. Aldi, Panera Bread, Einstein bagels, Papa John’s Pizza, Kupcakz, Daylight Donuts, and Merritt’s Bakery donated food for the project.
“I would like to thank Family & Children’s Services and contributors for the generous donation of fresh food at Gilcrease Division,” said Sgt. Greg Thompson, Gilcrease Division TPD. “The food was a huge hit with officers.”
