An expanded physical health care clinic operated by Morton Comprehensive Health Services has re-opened in the Family & Children’s Services’ Sarah and John Graves Center. The clinic will offer FCS clients physical health care at a “one-stop shop” at the Graves Center. The Morton clinic will help FCS integrate mental health treatment with primary care services to produce the best outcomes for our clients.
The clinic will offer physical health care at a “one-stop shop” embedded in the FCS Graves Center, which offers several programs in adult mental health, including a full-service pharmacy.
“We are pleased to integrate mental and physical health, providing holistic treatment for our clients,” said Krista Lewis, Chief Program Officer.
“Many of our clients were not aware of how to access quality, affordable health care. Now they can take care of their physical as well as counseling needs at one location,” Lewis said.
The clinic is staffed by a nurse practitioner and full-time nurse, and offers a lab, she said.
The clinic, featuring a new waiting room and check-in desk with more than 1,000 square feet, offers physical health assessments (check-ups), consultation and minor medical procedures.
“Too many of our clients visited hospital emergency rooms for minor health concerns,” she said. “The clinic will reduce unnecessary emergency room visits.”
Morton clinical staff work with FCS therapists and case managers to provide comprehensive health care services, meeting every morning to assess clients.
The clinic is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
