Expanding Vital Health and Behavioral Services in the Community
Family & Children’s Services (FCS) and Morton Comprehensive Health Services are excited to announce the opening of a new state-of-the-art integrated care clinic in north Tulsa, scheduled for early 2025. Located at 240 East Apache, this clinic is the latest collaborative effort between the two organizations, bringing together comprehensive medical, mental health, and social services under one roof.
The new clinic will expand health care in north Tulsa, including primary and behavioral health services. Through this initiative, FCS and Morton will provide seamless, coordinated care to significantly improve health outcomes for area residents.
“This partnership is a milestone in expanding healthcare access for north Tulsa,” said Family & Children’s Services CEO, Adam Andreassen. “By combining the expertise of both FCS and Morton, we are creating a unique care model that addresses the community’s medical, mental health, and social needs in one convenient location.”
Meeting Community Needs Through Integrated Care
The clinic is expected to serve approximately 400 clients in its first year, offering a broad range of services. Morton Comprehensive Health Services will provide primary care on-site, while FCS will deliver behavioral health support through licensed professionals and nursing staff. This integrated approach ensures personalized, holistic care that addresses both physical and mental health.
Research has shown that integrated care models improve patient outcomes by addressing medical and behavioral needs together. Coordinated care helps patients engage in preventive measures like vaccinations, routine checkups, and adherence to treatment plans, which can manage chronic conditions and prevent further health decline.
“Morton has its roots in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre so eliminating health disparities is Morton’s mission. Expanding Morton’s partnership with FCS leverages the strengths of each organization,” said Morton CEO, Susan Savage. “With Morton’s historic presence in north Tulsa as a leading health care provider, this clinic will supplement and expand access to care.
Addressing Health Disparities in north Tulsa
According to the Tulsa Community Health Needs Assessment, 55.6% of north Tulsa residents report difficulties accessing mental health care, significantly higher than the national average of 35%. This new clinic seeks to reduce those disparities by providing accessible, integrated care that meets the community’s physical and behavioral health needs.
“North Tulsa has long been underserved, and this clinic is a critical step toward changing that,” said Andreassen. “By providing medical and mental health services in one location, we’re removing barriers to care and making it easier for people to get the support they need.”
A History of Collaboration and Community Impact
This partnership builds on nearly a decade of collaboration between Morton and FCS, including their joint efforts at FCS’s Harvard location and the Center of Hope with the Salvation Army to support homeless patients. The new clinic continues this legacy, leveraging the strengths of both organizations to expand access to quality care.
With Morton’s Main Health Center just a mile away, patients will also benefit from extended primary care access, Morton’s transportation services, and affordable medications through their discount pharmacy. This collaboration exemplifies the commitment of both organizations to providing high-quality medical and mental health services.
A Shared Commitment to Comprehensive Care
This new clinic extends FCS’s network of 11 offices and over 80 community-based sites throughout Tulsa, complementing the organization’s Osage Hills office, which focuses on addiction recovery and mental health services. Morton Comprehensive Health Services, a Federally Qualified Health Center system of six primary care clinics is accredited by the Joint Commission.
