Family & Children’s Services (FCS) and Daybreak Family Services (DFS) proudly announce a significant advancement in school-based services through a strategic workforce integration.
This integration involves an acquisition hire, commonly known as an “acqui-hire” as FCS welcomes the DFS leadership and staff into their organization. As a result, DFS will now operate under the new banner of Daybreak@FCS, signifying a unified approach to their shared mission.
Amidst a backdrop of workforce shortages, Daybreak@FCS emerges as a synergistic solution to address the mental health challenges of students and the growing needs within local school communities.
“This is an incredible opportunity to support schools and their mental health needs, says Whitney Downie, Chief Program Officer for FCS School-Based Services. “As we know, the suicide rates continue to rise with children and adolescents. Girls, in particular, have growing struggles. The pressures of social media and bullying are primary issues students are trying to manage during their school day. Schools need more services to support all the social and emotional issues of kids. Daybreak@FCS will help us accomplish our shared mission to serve families and children who struggle with behavioral health issues in schools.”
Importantly, as Daybreak@FCS becomes part of FCS, it gains access to FCS’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) services. This access bolsters Daybreak@FCS’s ability to provide a comprehensive continuum of care within schools. This can include deploying behavioral health aides to support students and teachers as well as implementing enhanced case management to provide stronger support for students and families.
“We are excited to welcome Daybreak@FCS into our family,” remarks Adam Andreassen, PsyD, FCS CEO. “This collaboration underscores our dedication to advancing school-based care, leveraging the talents of over 50 mental health experts to meet the growing demand for quality services in our schools.”
DFS has an existing footprint in school-based behavioral health services in Broken Arrow, Bixby, Sapulpa, Manford and Sand Springs.
“We’ve always prioritized providing comprehensive and caring support to our students and families, says David Peters, Chief Operating Officer at Daybreak Family Services. “Our focus has also always been on creating an open and inclusive work environment for our employees. Becoming a part of FCS marks an exciting chapter in our journey, one where we’re able to further expand our services and enhance the quality of care we offer. Recognizing the potential for FCS to supplement our efforts, this transition is a significant advantage for our valued employees, our schools and our clients. By combining our strengths, Daybreak@FCS brings to the table a broader continuum of care, more resources, and increased accessibility. Together, Daybreak and FCS will seamlessly integrate our workforces to ensure continuity of care for the many children and families we serve in Tulsa County and beyond.”
