Ariel Ruting
Team Supervisor, Connections
Which branch of the military did you serve in, and why did you choose it?
Navy, my father retired Navy. I personally choose the Navy as I thought I too would retire making a career of it. However, it has best served me by allowing me to travel places I wouldn’t think I’d go, as well as help pay for my master’s degree.
What skills or values from your military service do you find most useful in your current role?
My ability to adapt to various surroundings.
What brought you to FCS?
It’s exact opposite values I experienced in the military. Leadership appears to care more for their staff then I experienced in service.
What does Veterans Day mean to you personally?
A time to reflect previous sacrifice.
How has your military experience influenced your career and life today?
Provided me structure and routine which then lead to me earning a degree in a field in which I feel impassioned to be in.
