Which branch of the military did you serve in, and why did you choose it?
United States Army, I chose this branch because I do not like the water.
What skills or values from your military service do you find most useful in your current role?
I learned a great many skills that I use throughout my daily life, including working here at FCS. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.
What brought you to FCS?
I was in the Military Police, where I did a great deal of good in the world. What brought me here, is that I wanted to use my degree, and do some good without having to do any harm.
What does Veterans Day mean to you personally?
It is a day that I enjoy celebrating my teammates and their service, I appreciate the veterans that serve their country and all that they have sacrificed. I served with a group of absolute heroes, and I enjoy celebrating them every chance I get.
How has your military experience influenced your career and life today?
My military experience has influenced me in this profession by allowing me to see that behaviors are all symptoms. That no matter what, people need to feel empowered in their life, as well as feeling supported. I have seen more wonderful people in this profession then I thought existed, Family and Children’s Services has renewed my faith in humanity.
