Amber Dunegan
Clinical Supervisor, Live Well
Which branch of the military did you serve in, and why did you choose it?
Army. I joined the army because I wanted to be a part of a cause that meant something to me. And fighting for my country felt like the right cause.
What skills or values from your military service do you find most useful in your current role?
Non-judgement and not reacting immediately. Learning to face things factually and not impulsively.
What brought you to FCS?
Moved to Oklahoma from Missouri and felt that FCS met my ethical standards and values for an agency.
What does Veterans Day mean to you personally?
Everything. I know the sacrifices made daily by veterans when they were active and currently.
How has your military experience influenced your career and life today?
You are only as strong as your weakest link. So, the purpose is not to be better than everyone else. But to build your team and supports so your links are strong and supported no matter what comes our direction.
