Protracted, contentious divorce proceeding were taking a toll on Daniel’s* children. A judge recommended the family contact Family & Children’s Services for professional help.
In therapy sessions, little Maya and Ellie voiced their worries, received reassurance and began to adjust to their new family dynamic. Daniel participated in several sessions with his children. He also completed the Helping Children Cope With Divorce seminar and the six-week Cooperative Parenting and Divorce class, where he learned how to communicate effectively with his former spouse and build comforting routines for the children.
Daniel says Maya and Ellie now have significantly less anxiety and feel secure in their parents’ love for them.
Since 1994, Family & Children’s Services has helped 87,975 divorcing parents accomplish what seems impossible: reducing conflict, finding cooperation, healing themselves and focusing on their children instead as they go through the dissolution of a relationship.
