Why did you first get involved with F&CS?
Working with the leadership team of F&CS provides the opportunity to impact my community in a much greater way than any individual could ever do alone. It is an honor to serve with the F&CS team and be an ambassador for an organization that has such a long-term impact on the well-being and behavioral health of our community.
What about F&CS’s mission and work inspires you?
F&CS provides hope, healing, and a better path for families in need. The unprecedented, life-changing programs and influence of our organization is a direct reflection of the vision, dedication, and passion of the F&CS team.

Why did you first get involved with F&CS?
I was initially exposed to F&CS about 23 years ago when my wife and I were clients. We had just gotten married and were having some challenges melding two previously separate families together. We appreciated and took advantage of the counseling services in the east Tulsa location at that time near 21st and Garnett. Shortly thereafter, I was afforded an opportunity to become an F&CS board member, which I readily accepted in large part because I had seen first-hand the assistance the agency could provide.
What about F&CS’s mission and work inspires you?
I appreciate and value all the divisions within what is now a large, health and human services organization. I am always inspired by the Women in Recovery ladies and the courage it takes to make such profound and life-altering changes in their lives, but the COPES team probably intrigues me the most as they are literally the first line of assistance for individuals struggling with mental health issues … most of which have been ignored by traditional support systems. From suicide prevention to grappling with many forms of substance abuse and often related mental health disorders, the COPES team sets the pace for F&CS’s breadth of services.
