Adam Andreassen, PsyD, joined Family & Children’s Services (FCS) in December 2023, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the organization. Before his role at FCS, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for Brightli, a prominent nonprofit behavioral healthcare center in the United States, overseeing the operations of the Burrell Center – a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) spanning 18 Missouri counties. Additionally, Andreassen holds the position of President/CEO for the National Psychology Training Consortium, a pivotal organization providing doctoral psychology internships to member agencies nationwide.
His journey in the field of clinical psychology led him to earn his Doctorate Degree from the School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute. With a diverse background, Andreassen has been immersed in various aspects of community mental health throughout his career, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
A fervent advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Andreassen places these values at the core of community mental health’s mission. Recognizing that access to behavioral healthcare is fundamental for community health, he emphasizes that access is more than a physical location—it is a conceptual commitment. Andreassen also firmly believes in eliminating every barrier to care, ensuring that mental health services are readily available to all individuals, embodying the essence of FCS’s mission and commitment to the well-being of the community.
